Story Time

This week after presenting our work we surprisingly swapped neither teams nor projects! I was happy with this as I was beginning to enjoy the environment of Hourglass World and as this week we begin with storyboards I’m very excited to create a narrative for this world!

As we haven’t changed worlds we don’t need to spend as much time researching the world as we have had to in previous weeks, but in order to create a storyline for this world, we did have to go back and look at the characters in this world and how they were able to survive the hourglass being turned.

We looked through Jordan‘s blog from character design week and found these characters that we used as the basis for the ‘intelligent’ creatures in this world

I went on to look at this design and see how I could make it more adaptable to the world being flipped upside down and having to begin again etc and came up with a design where the creature was able to scrunch up a bit like an armadillo in order to survive the impact.

For the Timekeeper who seems to be like a deity who controls the hourglass we found a stunning design by Niamh and decided to simplify this so that everyone in our team would actually be able to draw it! We  also altered him a bit so now he’s only got 4 arms and a wispy/ smoky trail.

niamh fuck yea
